Games and Interactivity

The Bachelor of Games and Interactivity is targeted on the role of matches in contemporary society and the way that games are growing as a cultural trade. Students undertake a variety of projects which focus on analogue and digital matches, and develop creative and technical communication and research skills at a matches laboratory atmosphere. The class summarizes the increasing convergence of matches and other forms of media from complementing a core set of games-specific studies with components drawn from the wider field of media and communications.

Graduates of the Games and Interactivity degree will be eligible for student membership of the Games Developers Association of Australia (GDAA). Graduates in the games industry can make an application for membership of the International Games Developers Association (IGDA) as well as the GDAA. Students are also qualified for membership of the Australasian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA).

• Year 12 or equivalent
• VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL). The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, including an interstate or worldwide Year 12 qualification. Completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification (including Certificates IV (completed), Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Associate Degrees and Degrees). Applicants without an official eligibility might be considered for entry upon finishing the STAT test. Added performance criteria and prerequisite requirements may also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory completion of one of these following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 high degree ) with overall 65%, all skills 65%
• Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no single band below 6.0
• TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 75 having a hearing band a minimum of 18 and writing band a minimum of 20
• Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no communicative skills significantly less than 50)
• every other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency. Notice: A requirement for many classes, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can currently be done online campus in Hawthorn.
