Just over half (56%) industry managers based in luxury hotels prefer graduates who have trained in more than a single country (TNS Survey 2013). Graduates with an international education have a significant advantage in the jobs market.

During the program, students will rotate through the Les Roches campuses in China, Spain and Switzerland with their select group of classmates. Together they will experience cultural immersion through cultural weeks, culinary courses, and language classes.

CULTURAL EXCURSION WEEKS
Each campus of Les Roches is located in a unique tourism market offering different services and activities, which you will experience during the BBA in Global Hospitality Management program.

Explore China – Les Roches Jin Jiang Cultural Week

The cultural immersion week of Les Roches Jin Jiang features 7 days of tours and activities in Shanghai, China’s biggest city, and the surrounding cities of Ningbo, Suzhou and Wuxi in the Jiangsu Province.

You will get a chance to visit Buddhist temples, botanical gardens, the World Financial Center and famous hotels. Plus, you will attend cultural shows and experience the hospitality of a local family.

Every day, you will learn about the Chinese culture and history and you will have the opportunity to visit various historical sites. You will also learn some Mandarin through daily practical lessons and interaction with locals.

Explore Spain – Les Roches Marbella Cultural Week
The cultural week in Spain will take place after you have finished semester 3. You will have the opportunity to discover Spanish hospitality, hotels and cuisine, whilst also visiting famous cities and landmarks around Spain (museums, markets and cathedrals).

You will receive the program for this cultural week during semester 3 in Spain.

Explore Switzerland – Les Roches Bluche Cultural Activities

Throughout your 3 semesters in Switzerland, you will have many opportunities to explore Switzerland and Europe through school activities and weekend excursions with friends. In the region, the Swiss Alps and Valais offer year round outdoor sports and cultural activities such as skiing, hiking, festivals and wine-tasting.

Switzerland’s major cities such as Zurich, Bern, Lausanne, and Geneva offer luxury shopping, historical landmarks, and excellent restaurants and night-life. From the nearby train station in Sierre, you can also hop on a fast train to Milan (2 hours) or Paris (3.5 hours), or take a plane from Geneva airport to Amsterdam or London in only a few hours.

SEMESTER 1 - SWITZERLAND

HOSPITALITY COURSES & INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY INTRODUCTION

The first semester in Switzerland will introduce you to hotel operations using the rigorous Swiss methods to achieve impeccable service quality. At the same time, you will begin to explore hospitality as a field of international management and cultural diversity.

Your first internship will allow you to exercise your operational skills in an international hospitality organization.

You will gain real-life work experience in core hospitality departments such as F&B (restaurant, kitchen, banqueting) and Rooms Division (Front office, housekeeping).

SEMESTER 5 – SWITZERLAND

STRATEGIC HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT COURSES

When you return to Switzerland you will have a broad base of hospitality skills, cultural knowledge and international experience. Semester 5 will take you to the next level with strategic management courses for international hospitality organizations.

Requirements

Age - Normally 18 years old and above. Applicants can be under the age of 18 provided they are 18 when they finish their first semester of study.

Education - A High School Diploma or equivalent. Students must have completed (supported by an official Certificate / Diploma) at least six years (for the Diploma program) and at least 7 years (for the AD/ BBA program) of secondary education and provide evidence of it. Complete information on the school, including school transcript and/or certificate of public examination (including an explanatory note of the grading system) should be provided.

English Qualification - If you are not a native English speaker, or if you have not spent the last 3 years in an English-taught school, please enclose one of the following:

1. TOEFL: minimum score of 500 points for the paper based test and 61 on the Internet Based Test (IBT). The TOEFL testing code number for Les Roches is 9827.

2. Cambridge First Certificate Exam (FCE): Grade C - Please also send the statement of results with your detailed profile.

3. IELTS : Academic Module minimum Overall Band Score of 5.0 and min 5.0 for each part (listening, reading, writing, speaking).

All English certificates must have been issued in the last 12 months prior to admission.

If you do not meet the above English language requirements, you have the possibility of registering on our Intensive English language program to acquire the entry English level.

Funding

PAYMENT PLANS

A Payment Plan Agreement can be arranged to help students and their families manage their tuition payments by installments. The most common payment plans call for two or three installments, spaced over the period of one academic semester.

SCHOLARSHIPS

As a private institute, Les Roches provides a limited number of scholarships for new students. The scholarships are competitive and linked to Les Roches’ admissions strategy which aims to assist motivated young people to study at our institution. Each scholarship has specific criteria and eligibility for a scholarship is examined on a case-by-case basis for those students who have submitted a complete application.
