The Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (HPE) Pathway to Teaching (Secondary) brings with a comprehensive foundation of health sciences, knowledge of physical exercise, and skills in getting together with people. The class investigates challenging areas of personal development, including childhood health problems, sexuality, drugs, psychology and risk-taking behaviors, as well as overall health science, including human education, health systems, health promotion and research. Enrolment in this program involves direct path to your Master of Teaching degree, then on to your teaching career. Teaching opportunities can be stretched outside HPE by analyzing electives, such as science and math, where students develop a second teaching field in an interest of their own choice. The degree also gives the advantage of early usage of Education Studies units during compulsory completion of an Education Studies sub-major. These units of analysis have been ordered to acquire the necessary learning are as to satisfy the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards discipline knowledge requirements for entry into teaching.
Graduates may be qualified to apply for certification using the NSW Institute of Teachers after a successful conclusion of a recognised teaching qualification.
