The Master of Science in Information Systems (IS) is offered by the Department of Computer and Information Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The programme is aimed at senior students with a bachelors degree who want to specialize in information systems. Upon successfull completion the student will receive a master of science degree. The programme focuses on the technical areas of information systems design and engineering, providing a broad overview of basic methods and specialized training in selected cutting edge technologies.

Our goal is to educate our students to become information systems engineers who have the ability to conceive IT solutions in the widest context. As a completed student you will have the knowledge you require to assemble requirements and solutions with a sensitivity to the broad set of consequences your decisions may have. During the course you will gain a working knowledge of theoretical and technical issues in a range of domains, and will learn to make decisions about the applicability of various possible solutions. You will gain experience in solution and implementation through customer driven projects, and will also be given the opportunity to participate in forward looking technologies by undertaking project work with one of the many innovative research projects at the department.
