Semesters one to four (two years): basic studiesThe first two semesters can take place at Hof University (if the student is eligible to study in Germany without further preparatory courses and is proficient in the German language, as the first year is taught in German) or at a partner university / the student's home university.

Language requirements
Applicants for the first two semesters are required to provide a German language proficiency test (TestDaf) as well as an English language proficiency test (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge ESOL).As the language of instruction is English from the third semester onwards, applicants for the third semester are not required to provide proof of their German language skills. They have to submit an English language certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge ESOL).

Rent for a single room in a student residence is approximately 250 EUR plus additional costs for electricity. Rent for a private one-room apartment is approx. 300-400 EUR plus additional costs for water, heating, and electricity.
