Esslingen University is one of the leading universities in Germany for applied sciences. Its core areas are engineering and management as well as applied research. These strengths form the Esslingen MBA in International Industrial Management: operations, marketing and finance, the core areas of business in the manufacturing sector, and the surrounding product services. The Esslingen MBA is highly competitive, internationally recognised, and ranked among the top European MBA programmes in industrial management.

A GOOD MIXTURE OF THEORY AND PRACTICE
The Esslingen MBA is more than a typical MBA programme. It is designed for Bachelor's graduates from STEM subjects with management ambitions. It enhances your technical skills with a wide range of managerial and cross-disciplinary knowledge from
  • operations & supply chain management
  • marketing, strategy & leadership
  • finance & business planning
The close relationship of the Esslingen MBA to the industry enables you to apply the theory you learn in the classroom to real-life situations in industrial companies. Courses include lectures, workshops and team projects: hands-on learning activities include company visits and real case studies. In addition, you have the opportunity to specialise your choice of management area during your mandatory Master's thesis in the industry.
Personal coaching seminars help you to hone your business etiquette. Through our small class size of approximately 25 students, you have an optimal learning environment with a high professor-student ratio. Classes are taught by highly qualified professors or industry instructors with rich professional experience.

ACTIVE INTERNATIONAL ALUMNI NETWORK
Networking is essential for success in today's global business world. Over 90% of Esslingen MBA students are international, with representatives from approximately 12 different nations each year. The resulting intercultural network is a particular highlight of the Esslingen MBA.
Through our alumni platform stretching all over the globe, generations of Esslingen MBA graduates build an international network to promote mutually beneficial interaction and professional development.

Today's business managers need a whole new range of skills to lead an enterprise in the global marketplace. Companies need experts not only to run the business but also to build bridges between countries and cultures. Professionals are needed who combine a strong industrial knowledge with a passion for management. The Esslingen MBA has a dedication to educate business professionals to reach this goal.

As an Esslingen MBA graduate, you will be prepared for a management career in an international environment. You will understand the functional areas of business and the interrelationships in complex organisations. You will be able to work at the interface between technology and management, or in a management position requiring goal-oriented problem solving.

Esslingen MBA graduates are particularly sought after by German companies in the field of automotive and mechanical engineering as well as consulting.

Language requirements

Knowledge of English shown by TOEFL (our code: 1680) or a comparable qualification is required. Minimum TOEFL score: 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 79 (Internet-based) or IELTS of at least 6.5 or Cambridge Certificate (CAE or CPE).
Native English speakers as well as applicants who have completed their first degree in English are exempt from the English language test.

Proficiency in German is very important for students not only to manage everyday life, but also to apply for a placement in industry for the corporate project and the Master's thesis. Most companies require fluent or at least intermediate knowledge of German, and finding a position in Germany after graduation is practically impossible without a good command of the language. Therefore, all students are required to have at least basic knowledge (CEFR level A1) of German at the beginning of the programme in September. To meet this prerequisite, beginners must take German language courses in their home country. By the end of the second semester, CEFR level A2 must be proved.

Academic requirements

The prerequisite for participation in the Master's programme is either a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent academic qualification, preferably in a STEM subject.

All applicants must take either GMAT (our code: TJ2-P4-65) or GRE (our code: 7004) to prove that they are sufficiently qualified for this course of studies.

Applicants must demonstrate proof of at least two years' work experience after their first academic degree.

The APS is required for applicants whose first degree is from PR China, Vietnam, or Mongolia.
