Educational organisation

The study programme uses different teaching methods - lectures, seminars, exercises, colloquiums, labs and study visits. Furthermore, an internship is recommended.

The Master of Science (MSc) in International Vocational Education is a dual degree programme. After graduating you not only receive a degree from the Otto von Guericke University, but also from the partner university.

Study abroad unit(s)

Within this study programme, participants spend one semester abroad, e.g. in the case of our English partner university, participants spend the third semester of the programme at the Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford.

Internships

An internship offers students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge. An internship of four weeks can be completed during the winter break between the first and the second semester. Programme advisers will assist students in finding an appropriate internship.

Forms of assessment

Forms of assessment: presentation, written exam, scientific assignment, internship report, oral exam
Credits: 2-6 ECTS per seminar, 10 ECTS per module

Course objectives

The course is internationally oriented. It prepares students for high-level specialist and management jobs in further education and training, particularly in an international context (e.g. in national or international vocational education institutions, in education institutions of the economy). Occupations in the teaching material sector, vocational education research or in international development cooperation are further career opportunities.

The "Master of Science" degree qualifies for subsequent PhD studies. The programme also prepares you for the postgraduate programme "Berufsbildung und Personalentwicklung" (TVET and human resource development) and fosters competences especially for your own research projects (e.g. within the scope of your PhD studies).
