IT Management for Business

Description

The programme was designed in consultation with large-scale industry players including BT, Capgemini, CA Technologies, Cisco Systems, IBM, Logica, the Ministry of Justice and NHS.

It aims to provide students with an understanding of the IT needs for business-centred systems and an understanding of the business models, needs and organisational structures which these systems support.

Employers will be involved through guest lectures, networking opportunities and career mentoring. The e-skills community online networking service is also available for interaction with industry experts and fellow students throughout the UK.

Year 1
Computer Systems Development; Programming; Web, Database and Games Development; Computer Architecture.
Year 2
Software Development; Software Modelling, Analysis and Design; Web Programming; Interaction Design.
Year 3
Database Systems Development; IT Project Management; Software Modelling, Analysis and Design; Software Processes and Practices.
Year 4
Research and Project Methods; Honours Project; Database Systems Development; IT Project Management; Professional Issues.

Requirements

• Higher: BBBC
• A Level: CDD
• ILC: BBBCC
• IB Diploma: 24 points.

• Mathematics or Physics or Computing (Higher/A level)
• Mathematics and Physics (A level).

Work Experience

No work experience is required.
