Master of Kinesiology (MKin) is a course‐based degree program designed to prepare students to be professional kinesiologists with advanced understanding of applied exercise physiology appropriate for work in chronic disease management, health and wellness and high performance sport.

Requirements 

  • A four‐year baccalaureate degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution. Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 point system over the past two years of full‐time study in Kinesiology or an appropriate academic background for the area of specialization. Admission is competitive and normally applicants with higher GPAs are selected for admission to the program.
  • A minimum grade of "B" or 3.00 in each of the following undergraduate prerequisite courses or equivalents: Anatomy, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Sport Psychology, Statistics
  • 800 word letter of intent
  • Two (2) academic reference letters
  • A demonstrated ability to be self‐motivated and capable of independent study as shown in undergraduate studies, volunteer work and/or work experience in exercise science areas
  • Applicants whose primary language is not English must provide confirmation of English language proficiency prior to being considered for admission. Minimum TOEFL score of 580 (written) or 92 (Internet‐based), or an IELTs score of 7.5, or a MELAB score of 82.
