The Primary specialisation is offered from Semester 2, 2015. There will be no intakes for the Secondary specialisation in 2015.
Advance your teaching skills
USQ’s Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) allows you to specialise in teaching students between the ages of five to twelve years old. You will gain an extensive understanding of primary school teaching in Queensland and advanced and comprehensive masters level degree will allow you to graduate with a high degree of employability.
Professional experience
There are 60 days of supervised professional experience placements and 20 days of an unsupervised internship at a 50 percent teaching load in a primary school or other approved educational context. You will also have the opportunity to undertake some of your professional experience overseas.. There is also the opportunity to complete some of your practical experience in regional and Indigenous locations.
Professional recognition
Graduates of the Master of Learning and Teaching are eligible for teacher registration.

Entry requirements
- 3-year bachelor degree or equivalent in a discipline other than education.
- applicants must show how their prior studies meet these requirements by submitting a completedTeaching Areas form (PDF 517 KB) with their application.
- Minimum IELTS score of 7.5 with no component below 7.0 (for applicants for whom English is not their first language) in any of the 4 skill areas, and a score of no less than 8 in speaking and listening.
English Language Requirements
Domestic and international students from a non-English speaking background are required to satisfy English Language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 7.5 or equivalent.
