Students learn how to recognize and analyse legal concepts and fundamentals in legal clinic, and develop high level administrative and legal skills required in the increasingly complex function of a paralegal. Students develop skills if investigation, legal procedures and technology employed in practice, legal writing and writing, discussion and interview skills, together with a knowledge of legal practitioner and societal responsibilities. The class comprises prescribed psychiatric studies in lawenforcement, legal clinic and conveyancing. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate their legal expertise and their own awareness of professional responsibilities in subjects including professional abilities and dedication and through a internship in the final semester. To maximise knowledge of the relevance of studies to the area of work, students are confronted with simulated case studies, role plays, guest lectures from legal industry professionals, and RMIT's clinic business.
