This program will be scheduled to commence at Trimester 1-2020. Help create new materials to drive the engineering of tomorrow with this particular Griffith degree.Materials science covers chemistry, physics and engineering. In the chemical perspective it involves the style and molecular assembly of new smart materials which can be useful chemically, physically or both. Daily scientists have been inventing new molecules and substances for an increasing range of software that will produce positive differences in people's lives. Sterile energy systems, better sensors for disease, smart medication delivery systems, better farming technologies, renewable and green polymers and plastics all arise out of a knowledge of contemporary materials research. There's strong demand from existing industries and emerging startup organizations for pupils with materials science skills. All industries of society are increasingly being influenced by the engineering, both future and present, that area of science needs to offer. With this level you are going to find out how to apply your new understanding of this chemical sciences to solve problems and find new materials that'll drive the technologies of tomorrow, and have the ability to design, inspection and run experiments from modern materials chemistry. Additionally you will develop the ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of modern analytical tools, in addition to how to apply that knowledge from the characterisation of new stuff. You will contribute to the provision of technological methods into national and international problems and develop new technologies to the sustainable advancement of society, in addition to the relevant skills to efficiently communicate your findings and progress, and also to work efficiently and economically in a multi disciplinary team.In this level you also have the possibility to take on a practical work placement to help further enhance your skills and understanding of materials science. If you select you may also pursue an investigation pathway and develop a research project to generate practical outcomes and insights for the own organization, business or a market partner.
