This course aims to provide advanced training in the rapidly expanding field of medical engineering. It is aimed at a range of personnel involved in medical engineering including engineers, surgeons, sales and marketing staff and regulatory personnel, who wish to pursue a career in this sector or are already in employment.

The course provides students with a broad coverage of this rapidly expanding field whilst at the same time allowing a degree of specialisation through the provision of optional material. Particular emphasis is placed on inter-professional training and the multidisciplinary nature of the discipline, enabling the student to successfully complete complex tasks at the increasingly important interface between engineering and the life sciences.

A degree equivalent to either: a) a UK upper second class (2.1) honours degree or higher in engineering, a physical science or mathematics; b) or a medical degree or allied subject with a background in orthopaedics.We also welcome and accept students with a wide range of international equivalent qualifications.English language requirement: A pass at GCSE level in English language (grade C or above). If English is not your first language, you are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English. You will need to meet our minimum requirements for one of the following recognised English language tests: the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS), the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Pearson Test of English Academic.
