Description

The BSc Mental Health work is a part-time top up degree for qualified mental health nurses with a Diploma of Higher Education. The unique focus of this programme is the development of advanced, contemporary therapeutic skills for mental health practice. This includes specialist therapeutic techniques such as psychosocial interventions, family work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, working with individuals with personality disorder and substance misuse.

Participants will need to be working with clients in clinical practice as therapeutic interventions are the focus for the content and assessment of this course. Clinical innovation and change management are also integral components of the programme.

Assessment

Analysis of transcribed taped interactions, case studies, essays and assessed presentations.

Career options

This programme enables professionals to examine their current practice in the light of contemporary relevant issues in order to enhance the care of their clients/service users.
