The Research Master's programme in Modern History offers research-based training in political and cultural history, the history of international relations, and social and economic history.

The Modern History Research Master's programme offers you research-based training in history as an academic discipline. We teach you how to perform research, and we challenge you to develop your own ideas on topics of your choice. Our History Department offers a broad range of historical expertise in four scholarly fields: political history; cultural history; history of international relations and conflict studies; and economic and social history. The Utrecht Programme is judged best in the field in the Netherlands by the Master's Selection Guide 2014.
