The Bachelor of Nursing Program at UNBSJ is a fully-accredited four-year undergraduate degree program offered by the Department of Nursing located in K.C.Irving Hall, levels 2 and 3. Students access courses on our beautiful park-like campus during the fall and winter terms of each year, as well as during 2 spring sessions - after second and third years. Students participate in lectures and labs, as well as hospital and community-based practice rotations throughout their four year program. Most courses and practicums are held in the daytime, but some may require an evening commitment. In the winter of year four, students work off-campus (or even out-of-province) with a registered nurse in a mentorship program. The goal of the Nursing Programs at UNBSJ is to educate caring professional nurses. Faculty believe that professional nursing encompasses three interrelated areas of competency: utilization of knowledge (knowing); accountable actions (doing); and attitudes and ethics expected of a nurse beginning to practice.
Field of study: Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN, ASN, BSN, MSN)
