Twelve European universities have termed up in order to create this international master porgramme. Its objective is to provide a high level of education to a limited number of students (five per university and per year) who have an interest in specialised research in this field.

Partner universities

University of Udine (Italy), Università Cattolica of Milano (Italy), University of Liège (Belgium), Birkbeck College, London (England), Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany), University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense (France), University of Paris III Sorbonne nouvelle (France), University of Frankfurt (Germany), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), University of Lille 3 (France), University of Rome 3 (Italy), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands).

Other universities could join the network in the future.

Competitions and projects
As a part of various classes, you will be encouraged to take part in a number of competitions ans/or projects. Two examples :

Short film competition, "2017, the future of Liège"

As a part of "Liège Expo 2017", WAT Productions and Liège's image hub organised a competition for original scenarios of short fiction films.

The prize awarded by Wallonie Image Production, consisting in making WIP's technical resources at the winner's disposal, went to Bastien Martin, graduate in Performing Arts, for his short film "Peket Fiction". Two ULg students, Victor-Emmanuel Boinem and Régis Falque, also stood out for their short film "Le Déclencheur".

Student collaboration between Liège and Maastricht for the project on Maastricht's candidacy as capital of culture in 2018

The city of Maastricht is a candidate to become Europe's capital of culture in 2018. This is a great opportunity for the universities of Liège and Maastricht to tackle the issue of Euregional identity. Is there such a thing ? If so, what form(s) does it take on ?

Scientific coordinators for international exchanges from the Masters in Media Culture (Maastricht University) and internships in Performing Arts (ULg) gave students the opportunity to examine this issue through Euregional cinema, and more specifically the role of landscapes in those productions.

Four students from the Masters in Performing Arts set up an audiovisual and multimedia project consisting in an "installation", together with 5 students from the "Media Culture" orientation of the University of Maastricht. They recreated some of the most iconic scenes of films shot - whether entirely or partially - in the Euregio (Rosetta, Eldorado, Rundskop). The result was staged (sound, lights, video...) and screened in June in Maastricht at the Lumière cinema, under the title "One Upon a Landscape".

The Belgian/Dutch team of students then continued collaborating until the end of June, by working on improving its project (and on its further development under other spectacular forms). The goal was essentially to enlarge the project's scale, in order to submit it to the "Culture" committee of Maastricht 2018.

The project was prolonged this year.

This master comprises two years of studies. Your study programme will be as follows :
- 1st year :

1st quadrimester - ULg : Courses totalling 25 credits + 10 credits for resarch project
