The Master of Pharmacy is a Graduate Entrance Master (GEM) course designed to permit the student, through diligent study and application, to turn into compounding and pharmacotherapeutic expert. Theory is comprehensive and includes chemical, biological, physiological, pharmaceutical and pharmacotherapeutics components. The course comprises 25 components, which include practical learning activities and research. Students tackle community pharmacy and hospital placements, where students are supervised by a practising pharmacist, to develop skills in the clinical setting.
Graduates are entitled to apply for provisional registration as a pharmacist using the Pharmacy Board of Australia. A further amount of 1824 hours of supervised practice is necessary so as to qualify for general registration as a pharmacist.
