The Master of Pharmacy (Global ) is a licensed three-year, graduate-entry degree leading to eligibility for registration as a pharmacist. Innovative and practice-based in approach, the course builds on students' strong scientific foundation to give specialist, thorough knowledge relevant to contemporary pharmacy practice. Besides the pharmaceutical sciences, this includes professional pharmacy providers, incorporated therapeutics and the special capstone theme, Molecule to Market, directed by industry pioneer Adjunct Professor John Montgomery. Developed by leading pharmacy academics, the class's subject material is delivered in an incorporated, student-focused manner, making use of cutting edge technologies and strong links with the pharmacy profession. Expert guest lecturers and practitioner teachers have been employed throughout the course to ensure relevance and real-world application of material. Students undertake a one-year intensive global placement in the nation of their choice (subject to availability) including clinical practice and project-based course work. Students undertake clinical practice in a large variety of configurations developed by UTS through their education. This carries a bonded hospital pharmacy placement. On-campus learning occurs at the Graduate School of Health's state of the art research and education facility, which started in 2015. Career options include: community pharmacy; professional pharmacy services; hospital/clinical pharmacy; medication research, design and development; professional jobs in pharmaceutical industry; primary health care; Accreditation; education; government and policy; the armed forces; and non-profit organisations.

The Master of Pharmacy (International) is fully accredited without conditions by the Australian Pharmacy Council and approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist at Australia. Upon completion of the degree, students need to complete a mandatory pre-registration training period and Intern Training Program so as to be eligible for registration.

  • Completed a UTS recognised bachelor degree, or equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted additional evidence of general and professional credentials that demonstrates possibility to pursue graduate studies. Entry is competitive and appraisal relies on grade point average (GPA). Applicants should also have completed the following at a tertiary level within the previous 10 years: inch pharmacology subject
  • 2 chemistry issues
  • inch bio-chemistry subject
  • inch individual anatomy subject, and 1 math or statistics subject. The English proficiency requirement of international students or regional applicants with international credentials is: Academic IELTS: 7.5 overall with a 7.0 in each sub test
  • Or TOEFL: newspaper based: 610-633 overall with TWE of 5.0, internet based: 102-109 overall with a score of 2-4 for listening and reading, 2-3 for speaking and 27 for writing
  • PTE: 73-78 overall with a 65 in each sub test
  • Or CAE: 191-199.
