Requirements
- Applicants for the MPhil stream should hold, or expect to hold by the time of admission, a Bachelor's degree in Physics or related disciplines, normally with Second Class Honours or overall average result of B or above.
- Interview will be arranged for shortlisted applicants by individual professors in due course.
- All applicants MUST have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (or computer-based score of 213 or internet-based score of 79) or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5
- Official transcript of academic records of all tertiary level studies, must be sealed in envelope by the original university (it is not necessary to insert the "Transcript Submission Covering Sheet" to the envelope), to be sent by postal mail;
- Recommendation form from two referees (if not completed online), to be sent directly by the referees by postal mail or by email to pgadm@phy.cuhk.edu.hk;
- Copy of certificate of academic qualifications (e.g., degree certificate and graduation certificate, if any);
- Curriculum vitae;
- Research statement/proposal (if applying to MPhil-PhD programme), indicating clearly the particular study field the applicant is interested in;
- Copy of HKID/PRC ID card or other identity document as given in the Application Form;
- Copy of certificate of professional qualifications, prizes and awards (optional); and
- Bank draft/cheque (in HKD) or bank-in slip for the application fee (if the applicant did not pay by VISA/Master Card), to be sent by postal mail.
Scholarships
- Full-time students may receive teaching assistantships or postgraduate studentships.
