This program takes a multi disciplinary method of looking at natural hazards and society could build resilience in the face of natural hazards. It'll build from the broad understanding of natural danger situations involving questions of policy creation in the business of hazard mitigation. The program will cover the following issue areas: ecological aspects that combine to generate natural hazards; the environmental, social and financial consequences of natural hazards and disasters; processes relevant to studying areas of natural hazards and crises; mitigation plans; challenges and opportunities for policy development in the natural hazards field; prospective trends in planning and managing natural hazards. The app additionally provides various opportunities to expand expertise in the context of natural hazards, including components which offer skills in population, physical and/or financial geography, land use planning, risk management, and Graphical Information System software. In addition, it boosts the growth of advanced skills in academic research using a supervised dissertation.
