Primary Education

This app is designed to qualify students to work as a key school classroom teacher (Prep-Year 6). It teaches students how children learn, the way to plan, teach and assess, and incorporate ICT within their own teaching. Students develop curriculum comprehension in English, science, mathematics, science, arts, physical and health education, history, and geography. From the first year, students complete 90 days of supervised professional experiences from local schools, and remote and rural settings. Students will establish valuable and rewarding wider field adventure in the place where they engage with community endeavors and work with children, families and communities. The level was developed in partnership with leading educational bodies.

Candidates are eligible to apply for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.

• Year 12 or equivalent
• English (Units 4 and 3, C)
• General Maths, Maths Methods or Specialist Maths (Components 4 and 3, C)
• A General science subject (Components 4 and 3, C). An background subject is recommended. Special English language requirements apply.
