Do you wish to pursue an international legal career that makes a difference? Are you interested in international peace and security, human rights, international environmental law and law of the sea? In the intensive one year LLM Public International Law you will explore common themes of public international law with the option to take a specialisation in Human Rights or Environment and Law of the Sea. In this programme you'll work closely with your lecturers - legal experts who are often involved in professional practice - and your classmates, international students with whom you'll collaborate throughout the year. The theory presented in compulsory and elective courses is enhanced by practical experience. You'll participate in a moot court, and will have a chance to visit a variety of international courts within the Netherlands, so you gain familiarity with the international legal environment. 'Our lecturers have a unique hands-on approach, helping students to get the most out of themselves. They coach students participating in international moot courts, and involve them in on-going research.' - Prof. Cedric Ryngaert
