The Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs graduate program offers a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Student Development with an emphasis in School Counseling. The 48 hour program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The programs conceptual framework emphasizes development of knowledgeable, caring, ethical decision-makers within the context of groups and institutions, client development and learning, guidance and counseling of students leading to theory-driven and research-guided practice in school counseling. Curricular experiences include human growth and development, appraisal, research and program evaluation, professional orientation, and foundations.
