The very first couple of decades of the program cover introductory studies in Australian society and the Australian welfare state, the nature of social matters, social research, psychology, and cross-cultural knowledge. The values and techniques required for effective social welfare practice, within a frame of social justice principles, are likewise covered. In the last couple of decades, the course focuses on knowledge and skills development for social work training in lead intervention, social and research policy.
Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
