Students tackle a structured program of study by coursework covering a range of social work problems. The Masters of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) additionally includes two placements in a social welfare agency. Students are provided with the professional information and skills concerning the theory and practice of work.
Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Completion of an approved AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a field besides social work
- Or equivalent. Students must obtain a Suitability to Work with Children Card (which calls for a criminal history check performed by the Queensland Police) until the beginning of first positioning and maintain currency of the same throughout their course.
