The programme is research-oriented. It will follow a prescribed series of investigation and students should inform themselves in depth about the field of knowledge relevant to the topic of their projects. In addition to satisfying the programme requirements and other requirements as prescribed by the Division, students will be required to submit a research thesis and pass an oral examination for graduation.

- Topics in the Principles of Surgery
- Topics in Surgical Specialties (such as Hepato-biliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal and Metabolic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology, Urology and Cardiothoracic Surgery)
- Topics in Otorhinolaryngology and related specialties (such as Otology & Neurotology, Rhinology, Laryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Facial Plastic Surgery, Audiology and Speech Therapy)
Topics outside the above fields would also be considered
Requirements
- Applicants should have a recognized Bachelor’s degree normally in a field related to life sciences or the degree of MBChB or equivalent
- Submit one of the following original score reports/certificates for assessment*:
- TOEFL (not lower than 550 Paper-based; 213 computer-based; and 79 internet-based);
- IELTS (Academic) (not lower than overall score Band 6.5);
