The Master of TESOL and Graduate Certificate in TESOL are offered in two different streams.

Stream A: is for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registered teachers wishing for further recognition as a TESOL specialist. Qualified teachers who complete this course can work in a wide range of settings, including schools, adult migrant English programs and English language intensive courses for international students.

Stream B: is for students who do not require VIT recognition for TESOL, such as those intending to teach English overseas, or qualified TESOL teachers who want to extend their professional knowledge and skills.

Master of TESOL (Stream A)

  • Course code: MC-TESOLA
  • 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time
  • 100 points of coursework, comprising:
    • 75 points of compulsory subjects, including a capstone component and supervised teaching placements
    • 25 points of elective subjects.

Master of TESOL (Stream B)

  • Course code: MC-TESOLB
  • 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time
  • 100 points of coursework, comprising:
    • 25 points of compulsory subjects, including a capstone component
    • 75 points of elective subjects (excludes supervised teaching placements).
