This program welcomes students who hold an undergraduate degree (by the range of areas ) to create expert teaching and research capabilities and a qualification in primary education with options to obtain experience in research and/or further, practice-based study. It provides contemporary approaches to learning and teaching, with a focus on the value of coping together with colleagues, an appreciation of diversity, evidence-based decisionmaking, reflective practice along with also an comprehension of modern schooling. Electives incorporate teaching languages, including native studies and sustainability in schools. A feature is that the integration of field knowledge with the program and pedagogical knowledge required to teach this degree.
The Master of Teaching Practice (Primary Education) is subject to accreditation by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) for registration purposes.
Students must have completed an Australian bachelor level, or equivalent, in any discipline with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (out of 4.0).
