In this specialisation you will study the relation between Islam and the West from different perspectives: legal, political, theological and cultural anthropological.
This one-year programme focuses on the interaction between Muslims and Islam within a minority situation in the West, and the reactions in Western society. You will be guided in your studies by a teaching staff with extensive knowledge of this subject, both theoretical and practical. During the programme you will be expected to participate not only in the study of the features of Islam as a living religion within the Western secular context, but you will also be asked to concentrate more specifically on the position of Muslims and the development of Islam within a particular geographical area - North America, Western Europe or South-East Europe.
This programme will end in 2014
