This qualification reflects that the roles of an individual delivering training and assessment services at the postsecondary education and training (VET) sector. This qualification (or so the skillsets produced from units of competency within it) can be suitable preparation for individuals engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of proficiency in a workplace context, as a factor of a structured VET program.The level of learning via a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is an average of six weeks to 2 years.Licensing/Regulatory Information Achievement of this qualification by coaches is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

Those entering this system has to have the ability to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed instruction and appraising area. Vocational competency is defined as extensive industry knowledge and experience, and may comprise, but is not limited by, holding a relevant unit of competency or eligibility.
