A Masters in Finance from the Australian National University equips graduates with the necessary skills to excel in the global financial marketplace. Students enrolled in the program examine fundamental principles in finance which are applicable to:  valuing financial securities and corporations; utilising derivatives for risk management purposes; and, exploring diversification methods to create investment portfolios. Upon successful completion, students will have the skills and knowledge to:

1. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of corporate finance, securities trading, investments, portfolio construction, derivative pricing and risk management.
2. Recoginse, understand and apply finance theory to company valuation.
3. Demonstrate a critical awareness of current issues in finance which is informed by leading edge research and practices in the field.

Students must achieve a minimum 60% weighted average mark in the initial component to continue to the concluding component.

Students who do not achieve a minimum of 60% weighted average mark will be transferred to the Graduate Diploma of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Applied Statistics.

A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with an average mark of at least 65%.

All applicants must meet the University's English Language Admission Requirements for Students

Applicants with a Bachelor Degree or Graduate Certificate in a cognate discipline may be eligible for 24 units (one semester) of credit.

Applicants with a Graduate Diploma or Honours in a cognate discipline may be eligible for 48 units (one year) of credit.
