The Master program in Visual Arts and curatorial studies is taught at the New Academy of Fine Arts. The university is located in Lombardia region, in the city of Milan, Italy. Italian and English is the main language of instruction for this program as well as for the majority of other programs of the New Academy of Fine Arts. Students applying for their studies should provide a higher education diploma translated into Italian and English as well as an Italian and English language certificate. In order to apply for the program the applicant should pass an Entrance Test. Application deadlines for international and domestic applicants can be found on the official website of the university.

The program offers a series of theoretical lessons and project workshops, developed in collaboration with different Italian and European artistic institutions, covering the various subjects related to the production, realization and communication of artistic practice, under an interdisciplinary perspective.

In addition to the classwork, students participate in a wide range of laboratory projects in which they engage directly with external partner artists and professionals of international standing: from the design of a format for an exhibition space to the production of an art magazine, from the planning of a travelling exhibition to the realization of a performance in a public space, every year they have the opportunity of experimenting different schemes for artwork production.

A series of interdisciplinary lectures and seminars, organized in collaboration with other NABA programs, provides students the opportunity of dealing with a wide range of artists and professionals in the field of Contemporary Art.

Candidates must hold an academic diploma or a bachelor degree in an artistic or humanities subject. Students who hold a different degree or diploma may also apply for admission if they have a creative or communication interest that is related to the topics of this two-year MA program. A commission will evaluate the candidates on a case by case basis.In order to ensure the appropriate faculty/students ratio, all NABA post-graduate programs foresee a maximum of 25 enrolled students per class.
The grants are available to attend academic course Visual Arts and curatorial studies in Italy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens not residing in Italy and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) for this academic year in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation, to promote Italian language and culture and to support Italy’s economic system in the world (According to Law 288/55 and its subsequent changes and additions).
