Overview
Students study subjects including business continuity planning, emergency and catastrophe risk management, crisis communications, ethics, and terrorism in this highly specialized degree. By giving students at the journeyman level a thorough grasp of the theories and best practices, the Emergency and Disaster Management program aims to prepare them for a future in emergency management services and leadership.
Programs that focus on providing the public with adequate protection during emergencies and prepare graduates to take on leadership positions in tasks related to emergency planning, mitigation, response, and recovery as well as adaptation in the public, private, and community sectors. The Emergency and Disaster Management programs create a knowledge basis in homeland security and disaster and emergency management. Programs are created to give students a solid educational basis for careers in emergency and catastrophe management.
Introduction to Emergency and Disaster Management, Risk Assessment and Vulnerability Analysis, and Political and Policy Basis of Emergency and Disaster Management are among the required courses.
