Neuropsychologists are important professionals in the field of psychology. Professional training

Students interested in neuropsychology must first complete a bachelor's degree in psychology, biology, or pre-medicine in order to be competitive and well-prepared for a doctorate in neuropsychology. Although there are several master's degrees in psychology with a focus on neuropsychology, most students complete a doctoral program in neuropsychology or clinical neuropsychology, since a doctorate is usually required for practical psychology.

As part of these doctoral programs, students study brain function, brain anatomy, as well as neurological injuries and diseases. Students are also trained to conduct and interpret tests that identify dysfunction and abnormalities in the brain. As for other majors, you will have basic courses that all students must take, and then you will specialize in neuropsychology as part of your specialty. A degree in neuropsychology develops students' scientific knowledge and skills in reading, writing, laboratory methods and experimental design. The programs are usually interdisciplinary, and you will take courses from professors who come from different university faculties and with different fields of knowledge: anatomy, biochemistry, chemistry, biology.
