The continuing sex education promotes the development of broad and flexible skills and the effectiveness of sexological counseling. This curriculum prepares health and social workers to identify, resolve, explain, accept, and provide information and advice related to sexual problems to work together in prevention, health promotion, and treatment. They can be represented in municipal health and social services.
Sexologists apply tools from several academic disciplines, including biology, medicine, psychology, epidemiology, sociology, and criminology. Research topics include sexual development (puberty), sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual relationships, sexual activities, paraphilias, and atypical sexual interests. It also includes the study of sexuality across the lifespan, including child sexuality, puberty, adolescent sexuality, and sexuality among the elderly. Sexology also extends to the sexuality of the mentally or physically disabled. The sexological research on sexual dysfunctions and disorders, including erectile dysfunction and anorgasmia, are also mainstays.
More and more institutions are starting to propose medical education programs in English. The schooling at public European universities are considerably lower than at US, UK and Australian universities. Consequently, the contention for these programs in Europe is steadily growing: many students from English-speaking countries strive to receive an inexpensive medical education here. Requirements for applicants
The standard set of documents for admission include an online application, transcripts with a GPA of 3.8 or higher, copies of high school diploma, TOEFL and IELTS language certificates, letter of recommendation, motivation letter, admission or medical documents containing exam results, an interview.
The program covers, in a sensitive and comprehensive manner, all relevant topics in sexology, including aspects of sexual health and therapy: sexual communication, fantasy, masturbation, bisexuality, male and female sexuality, homosexuality, sexual enrichment and pleasure. Entrance exams vary from country to country, but are compulsory in most cases. In Eastern Europe, exams in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics are held at universities. A bachelor's degree in Sexology usually takes 3-4 years to complete.
