Speech and language therapists (SLTs) program is designed to provide students with the knowledge of how to treat and support adults and children who have difficulties with communication process, or even with eating, drinking and swallowing. Students who want to help diagnose and treat people with communication problems may apply for this program. This program is provided on both university levels — undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree. Here you can see the main differences and requirements for each degree.
For the undergraduate degree, schools usually require A level passes in specific subjects, it can be languages (especially English), biology, psychology, or sciences. Postgraduate degrees require a previous Bachelor's degree in the relatable field, usually a science, language or psychology degree, however you have to check the requirements of universities individually. Moreover, students are required to have a GPA (Grade Point Average) no lower than 3,3 during your previous studies. The duration of Bachelor courses can vary from 3 to 4 years to complete. Master courses are about 2 years to graduate.
