SantaGiulia Academy is an educational institute part of the new high Music and Artistic Formation (AFAM) under the instructions of the Italian Education University and Research Ministry. It has been one of the first Italian institution to have actively implemented the Italian laws in education (D.M. 03/07/2009 n. 89 and D.M. 30/03/2009 n. 123) which have radically changed the university system.
SantaGiulia Academy distinguishes itself because it focuses on students professional possibilities, directing the attention on a careful and solid technical-artistic preparation, to the new digital technologies. It’s animated by a continuous and profitable interaction with the territory. The academy wants to give more value to will-power skilful and resourceful students, in order to give them the possibility to work in positions of responsibility connected to the nowadays strictly connected to technological innovation new artistic works profiles. For these purposes, SantaGiulia Academy has developed a strict net of collaborations that have put it in direct connection with the labour market for the artistic design, events and expositions.
SantaGiulia Academy offers more than 260 courses, that go through all the artistic and design ambits, from the interior design, to the digital cultures, from the web design to the virtual setting. Founded in 1999, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brescia SantaGiulia is a school of Fine Arts located in Brescia (near Milan in the North of Italy) and included in the AFAM System (the Italian Ministry of Education sector related the Fine Arts schools and music academies ).
Accademia SantaGiulia aim is to improve students professional skills by creating a lot of agreements with public and private bodies. Moreover the school participates to the European program Erasmus+ aimed to increase the youth mobility abroad and to improve students’ transversal abilities and competencies.
Once you have been selected to participate in the Erasmus programme by your home institution, you should send the application form to SantaGiulia Fine Arts Academy in Brescia together with your CV, portfolio of works and cover letter.
Your application and documents have to be approved and signed by your local Erasmus+ Coordinator and sent to us only by e-mail in one PDF file before the end of the deadline:
- for the winter semester – 27 May
- for spring semester – 28 October

The ECTS is the Higher Education credits system adopted in the European Space and comprehends all the countries involved in the Bologna Process, included Italy. One of the objective of the Bologna Process, it is to arrive to the creation of a commons credits system as useful tool to promote the students mobility at European level and to reply to the following needs:
- An improvement of the European Qualification Framework for the permanent acknowledgment (EQF)
- To reach the need to ensure quality for the accreditation of courses and study titles in the Higher Education
- To improve the global dimension of the Bologna Process that permits an equal standardization of the evaluation obtained in all the European countries.
SantaGiulia Fine Arts Academy is part of the EGRACONS (European Grade Conversion System), born in the LLP 2012-2015 project and financed by the European Commission, with the purpose to make the exchange mobilities more easier through the realization of a net system of evaluation conversion. The project wants to improve the knwoledge of different european evaluation system, giving everyone the possibility to better understand and interprete them correctly.
For residents in places far away from Brescia, the Academy has a partnership with Dotstay and the following services for finding apartments or rooms (shared or single) that meet the needs of registered students. Dotstay is the first housing network that revolutionizes the way people move to another city. It provides a housing service for students and offers a targeted search service through its web platform. Dotstay's search and offer system helps people who move to another city, for study or work reasons, to find their new home based on their needs.
Headquarter and laboratories
SantaGiulia Academy is positioned in a strategic point of the city, pretty close to the city centre and well serviced with public transport service. Its building, is distributed on 8.000 squares meters, with classrooms, laboratories and high tecnologies equipments, wired with the optical fiber and with free wireless system for students and teachers. The great building, includes a wide range of laboratories, used for different teachings such as photography, interior design, decoration, painting, engraving, multimedia design, sculpture and video. All the didactic classrooms are equipped with a video projector or a television.
Five new informatics laboratories with latest generation MAC and PC with updated softwares for the graphics design, 3D modelling, animation and video post-production. All the computers (MAC/PC) are equipped with Adobe Creative Cloud. The auditorium is a main space where all the master classes take place, carried on during all the academic year, with famous personalities of the artistic, culture and creative world.
