National Art School

The National Art School will be the longest ongoing art school in Australia and comes with an alumni of acclaimed Australian musicians, many of whom are key characters in the history of Australian art and contemporary art training. Located in the historic sandstone surrounds of this old Darlinghurst Gaol, the School offers a Bachelor of Fine Art, Master of Fine Art and short lessons in literary Art. Students undertake intensive tuition from the pro disciplines of ceramics, drawing, painting, photomedia, printmaking and subject, encouraged by the study of art history and theory. The National Art School Gallery's program reflects the energy of their visual arts. In connection with the exhibits NAS Gallery offers a dynamic program of events including discussions, seminars and workshops.
