At NIT Northern Institute of Technology Management in Hamburg, Germany, engineers from around the world learn how to perform management tasks responsibly. Since 1999, jointly with Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), the privately run NIT has provided an English-language study programme leading to two full-fledged Master's degrees: one in engineering, the other in technology management. Thirty-five students with high potential, including scholarship holders funded by companies and foundations, complete the course every year. Experienced engineers can also study for the MBA as an in-service degree. NIT also develops customised further education offerings for industrial enterprises and offers continuing education for professionals in the engineering and science industries.
Arrival Service: once you have arrived in Germany, we provide special services for our international students, offering assistance in coping with German bureaucracy. With the help of our partners, we can also help you to find and sign up for health insurance and to set up a bank account. We are also happy to be of assistance when you visit the Foreigners' Registration Office in Hamburg, and to make appointments for you.
Orientation Service: a welcome meeting is scheduled during your first week in Hamburg, at which NIT staff will meet you after the language classes. Continuing students will meet with you to share their academic and personal experience, and personal tutors will help you set up your TUHH timetable for the first semester.
Career Service: NIT has excellent contacts with partners in business, industry, and research. This applies not only to arranging internships with well-known partner companies during your study programme but also extends much further. Due to our extensive corporate network, students are able on completion of their studies to apply for exclusive jobs with our partners.
Host programme: The hosts support international students outside of the university context as personal contacts and advisers. Above all, they are to provide students with an opportunity to get to know the everyday life, culture, customs, and habits of the country. For students this is also a great opportunity to practise their German language skills.
