Profile of the Programme:

i. The students attain a broad understanding of the political, social and economic evolution of the international system in the 20th century as well as the new evolving international environment.
ii. The role of law, business and diplomacy in the international system will form a vital part of this understanding.
iii. The relative political and economic power of states, the role of international organizations such as the United Nations, and the existence of conflict will provide major foci for the program as a whole.

Career Prospects:

Graduates of this program go on to work in many different positions, both in the public sector as well as the private sector. Ministries within the Republic of Cyprus, United Nations and its associated agencies, non-governmental organizations, mass media and political parties, businesses, and banks.

Access to Further Studies:

Graduates of the program qualify to apply for doctoral study either at local or foreign institutions.

A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in the social sciences, particularly in subjects related to the field will be considered appropriate. Students with other qualifications will be assessed according to merit.A minimum 3.0 overall undergraduate GPA.A minimum TOEFL score of 550 or GCE or equivalent IELTS or a satisfactory score on the University Placement Test. However, this requirement may be waived if the applicant has completed his/her secondary education or undergraduate education at an educational / academic institution where English was the language of instruction.The Student should have a general knowledge of 20th century history, and should be conversant with current international economic and political developments.The Admission Committee of the Department examines all applications. It is understood that those applications which fulfill the criteria requirements are automatically accepted.
