The Program is to be conducted by Saint Petersburg State University and Freie Universität
Berlin, which means education in changing and challenging environments. The Program
provides international students with the opportunity to acquire two Master degrees in
two years, with diplomas that do not require additional recognition in Bologna Agreement
countries.
The Program focuses on training experts in global information and communication
studies and practices, including internships in German media. Even if language entrance
requirements are high enough, English and German/Russian language training is part of the
curriculum.
During the periods of study students spend the first and third semester at SPbU and the
second semester at FU. The place of study during the fourth semester is to be chosen either
in SPbU or FU according to the selection of their Master thesis supervisor by students.
Students will be given an opportunity to choose where to write and defend their Master
theses, in St. Petersburg or Berlin.

Applicants also have to pass the oral examination in the form of
an interview, conducted by faculty members of both institutions
(face-to-face or by telepresence via Skype conference)
Foreign applicants on government-funded basis should
also submit a copy of the medical certificate on absence of
contraindication against studying and a copy of the medical
certificate on the absence of the H IV virus and AIDS

As specified in the Governmental decree of Russian Federation (October, 8 2013 № 891"On Fixing an Education Quota for Foreign Nationals and Stateless Citizens in the Russian Federation"), foreign citizens are provided an opportunity to take part in an Competition for state-funded educational places at Universities in Russian Federation, including SPbU (funded from the budget of Russian Federation). For foreign applicants:
- on government-funded basis: April 10 – June 15
- on fee-paying basis:
April 10 – July 10 (for applicants requiring an entry visa)
April 10 – August 10 (for applicants not requiring an entry visa)
