The Ph. D. program in Computer Engineering requires the completion of at least 24 credits of course work and a Ph. D. Dissertation.

Those who have M. S. degrees in related areas may also apply but will be required to take additional remedial courses. Those who have graduated from an M.S. program without thesis are not admitted to the program

Applicants to the Ph. D. program in Computer Engineering have to include a declaration about their intentions about the subject and nature of their dissertation study in their applications, i.e. Statement-of-Purpose (SoP). This information is used in the evaluation of the Ph. D. application.

Requirements

* GPA higher than 3.00/4.00 and "ALES Sayisal" higher than 80 or GRE quantitative higher than 685.
* Applicants must contact with department faculty before the interviews and write a "statement of purpose" (minimum 1 A4 page). Statement of purpose must include the applicant's previous research, purpose of applying a PhD program, general research areas to work on and a list of faculty to work with. A hard copy of the statement of purpose must be submitted to all faculty before the interviews.
* A minimum of 2 references must be submitted with the application. No reference letter is needed for graduates of Bogazici Univ. Computer Engineering department.
* There is no entrance examination, but an interview instead.
