The Bachelor of Accounting allows students to develop skills which can be key for assessing, communicating and assessing with the financial position of an organisation or individual. The course is designed to prepare individuals within the core areas of financial accounting, management accounting, finance, taxation and auditing, as well as economics and business law. Students with studies in accounting find rewarding work in industry, commerce, the public sector, the fiscal institution or company enterprise consulting and general accounting.
The Bachelor of Accounting is professionally accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and CPA Australia.
- Year 12 or equivalent
- VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or even 30 in English (EAL). Extra performance criteria and prerequisite requirements may also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory completion of one of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 high level level) with overall 65%, all of skills 65%
- Minimum IELTS overall group of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no single band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 75 having a reading ring no less than 18 and writing ring no less than 20
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no communicative skills significantly less than 50)
- Any equal assessment of English language proficiency. Note: A requirement for all lessons, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done on campus at Hawthorn.
