Interior designers, as capable professionals at Interior Architecture, designing quality environments for a diverse array of functions and users. They organize the structure and construction to build interiors including commercial, workplace, hospitality, medical, gallery, and retail environments. Furthermore, interior designers may be connected in an increase of uncontrollable environments and the associated displays for trade fairs, exhibitions, museums, and public affairs. Their skills and knowledge are also utilised for flexible reuse of existing buildings and conservation of all significant websites. Interior designers require understanding and skills in all facets of design, including technical expertise of interior construction, equipment and construction systems. They need to also practice skill in administrative and communication skills. The degree also provides a sound basis for more specialised careers and study in areas like furniture or set design, education and/or research.

Students of Curtin's Interior Architecture degree are eligible to become student members of the Design Institute of Australia. Graduates are eligible to become Associate Members and following clinic experience, graduates are entitled to apply for full Membership. Curtin University's Interior Architecture course is among ten international institutional members of their prestigious IDEA (home design Interior Architecture Educators Association) and as this is subsequently connected with IFI.
