The School for the Contemporary Arts is an interdisciplinary program that offers training in dance, visual art, film, culture, music and theatre. It serves as a laboratory for groundbreaking creation and scholarship in all of these areas, including interdisciplinary collaboration, with an emphasis on the interrelationships among the arts. The School is committed to the innovative and creative application of evolving technologies within the framework and tradition of artmaking.Contemporary Arts offers courses covering a range of subjects including art and culture, technique classes in dance, choreography, repertory, dance history, film and cinema studies, music composition and theory, music analysis, acting, voice, dramatic literature, and studio and practical skills courses in visual art. Students of Contemporary Arts may also participate in field schools, a screenwriting centre, Student Unions for dance, theatre and film as well as apprenticeship programs in dance.
