This discipline focuses on the adaptation and application of engineering fundamentals to biomedicine. Graduates solve issues in a selection of healthcare-related fields like implantable bionics, drug-delivery procedures, medical imaging, radiotherapies, orthopaedic devices, telemedicine, robotic surgery, cell and tissue development. They are also involved in records management and physical rehabilitation.

A 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with a minimum average of 65%. A 4-year Bachelors degree in a biomedical health-related discipline with honours (either embedded as a single honours year) having a minimum average of 65% and 2 semesters of first-year university level math or equivalent. A graduate degree in biomedical engineering (Including UNSW Graduate Diploma 5449 or equivalent) with a minimum average of 65 percent
