The Bachelor of Arts in Civic Design at the University of Liverpool offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to understanding and shaping the built environment and public spaces. We aim to produce researchers with strong, transferable research skills, who are internationally recognised in their own fields and understand current environmental and academic research problems.

You’ll develop your research skills primarily by completing a project under supervision. These skills include:-

  • data collection
  • manipulation of the data
  • data interpretation and modelling
  • critical analysis
  • literature surveys
  • presentation skills, through international conferences

We’ll also encourage and train you to publish academic papers. It’s not unusual for students to students leave with 2-3 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

  • The normal entry requirement for all our postgraduate programmes is a good first degree (2:1) or above, in a related area from an approved university or equivalent. Applications from those with non traditional qualifications and relevant work experience are also welcomed and will be considered on their individual merits.
  • Applications from international students are welcome. International qualifications will be evaluated in line with the National Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) guidelines.
  • IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component)
  • TOEFL iBT 88 or above with minimum scores in components as follows: Listening and Writing 21, Reading – 22, Speaking 23

  • Evidence of English Language proficiency (EU and international applicants only)
  • Personal statement
  • Two references
  • Proof of funding Research proposal (forMPhil/PhD applicants only).
