Community Services

This qualification reflects that the functions of community agencies, case management and social home workers involved with the managing, co ordinating and/or bringing of person-centred services for individuals, communities and groups. At that degree, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under comprehensive instructions from senior management. Workers are often supplying direct support to individuals or categories of individuals. Workers might also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or instance direction; application ethics or the progression of new small business opportunities.Note that the Statutory & Staff kid, youth & family welfare specialisationmust be performed orderto meet the minimum education requirements for child protection and youth justice practice in Victoria. Additionally, to fulfill the minimum education requirements for entry into child protection practice in Victoria, diploma credentials must be approved by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA)To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Prerequisites of components of competency.No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements affect the eligibility at that time of publication.
