The Master of Engineering in Computer and Communications Systems will appeal to graduates with primary degrees in electronics or computing who wish to focus on a career in telecommunications, as well as to those with other science or engineering backgrounds who wish to work in the telecommunications industry.

The course is offered in two modes, part-time and full-time (subject to demand). The part-time mode facilitates students currently in employment. It is a block-release course over four academic terms, spanning two years. The full-time mode the course spans a single academic year, and requires full-time attendance on campus. Both versions have the same academic content. The course consists of a taught component and a project.

Objectives

It is designed to equip students with a detailed knowledge of software engineering and its application in the field of communications systems.

Careers

The Masters in Computer and Communications Systems is designed to produce graduates with in-depth skills in the computer and telecommunications areas. Prospective careers for such graduates include the design of computer networking hardware and software, and the planning, research, design and development of future telecommunications systems.

Web-based Application Design, Real-Time Systems, Communication & Security Protocols, Project 2
